Cheddar Cheese And Bacon Quick Bread |

This is a good cheesy and bacony quick bread. We like it with chili! If you are a fan of onion, you can add 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion to it. Ingredients:
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled |
2 c. flour |
1 t. sugar |
1-1/2 t.baking powder |
1/2 t. salt |
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) cold butter or margarine |
2 c. shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese |
1 c. milk |
1 egg, beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. 2. Mix dry ingredients; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and bacon. Add combined milk and egg; stir just until moistened. 3. Spoon into pan. 4. Bake 45 minutes. Cool in pan 5 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack. |
