i made these to go along with soup made with Thanksgiving leftovers. Ingredients:
4 cups flour |
2 tablespoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
8 tablespoons cold butter |
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese |
1 1/2-2 cups milk |
melted butter for tops of biscuits |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. 2. Cut butter in with pastry blender 3. Add cheese, mix lightly. 4. Make well in center and add milk. Stir lightly with a fork til combined, adding additional milk if necessary. 5. Knead lightly on lightly floured board til it all comes together. 6. Roll into a rectangle about 3/4 inch thick. Cut into 32 pieces 7. Place on greased baking sheets, brush tops with melted butter. 8. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, rotating half way through. |
