This is an easy to make, filling one-pot recipe. I got this recipe in 7th grade home-ec and it has always been a family favorite. Ingredients:
2 lbs hamburger |
1/4 cup dried onion flakes |
1 3/4 cups chili beans, canned |
2 (10 ounce) cans tomato soup |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt |
1 (8 count) package hamburger buns |
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. In a large fry pan or electric skillet, brown hamburger with the onion. Drain off fat. Stir in the beans, soup and seasonings; bring to a boil. Spoon hot meat mixture into an ungreased 8 or 9 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with cheese. 2. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes and meat mixture is bubbly. (You may want to put a cookie sheet under the square pan in the event of a boilover). 3. Put on burger buns and enjoy! |
