Besides being rich and buttery,this cheesy loaf gets a tangy boost from a smidgeon of mustard. From a Grill it magazine. Ingredients:
1 16 oz. loaf baguette-style french bread |
1/2c butter,softened |
1 c shredded cheddar cheese(4oz.) |
6 slices bacon,crisp-cooked,drained and crumbled |
1/4 c sliced green onions |
2 tsp. yellow mustard |
1 tsp fresh squeezed lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Using serrated knife,cut bread crosswise into 1 slices,cutting to but not thru bottom crust. 2. In small bowl,stir together butter,cheese,bacon,onions,mustard,and lemon juice. Spread mixture on both sides of each bread slice. Wrap loaf in heavy duty foil. 3. Preheat grill,reduce heat to medium. Place loaf on grill rack over heat. 4. cover and grill 10 mins. or till cheese melts and bread is heated thru. |
