When I make mashed potatoes, I try to remember to save some of the cooking water to make this bread. If you forget, or don't have any potato cooking water, warm water works fine. The potato water just gives a little finer product. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups warm potato cooking water (or just warm water) |
2 cups mashed potatoes (leftover works great) |
4 cups flour |
2 1/2 teaspoons yeast |
2 teaspoons salt |
3/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
3/4 cup grated asiago cheese |
Directions:
1. In a bread machine, combine warm water and yeast, let sit for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients in order given. 2. I knead and raise in the bread machine. Punch the dough down and divide into two loaves. 3. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 - 45 minutes. |
