CHEDDAR AND ONION SOUP CHICKEN This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Henna Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1988.
Ingredients:
4 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup all purpose flour for coating
1 tablespoon oil for browning
1 ounce package dry onion soup mix
2 cups boiling water
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Place flour in a shallow dish or bowl then heat oil in medium skillet over medium high heat.
3. Dredge chicken in flour then brown in hot oil.
4. Place browned chicken in a rectangular baking dish.
5. Combine soup mix and boiling water in small bowl.
6. Top chicken with cheese then soup mix and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
