My mother grinds the walnuts in the food processor but finely dices the apples by hand. Prep: 10 minutes. Ingredients:
1 cup chopped apple (gala or other firm, red variety) |
1/4 cup chopped walnuts |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon lemon zest |
1 tablespoon honey |
1 tablespoon kosher red wine |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients. For a chunkier texture, chill until ready to serve. For a smoother texture, pulse in a food processor or blender until well blended and coarsely ground; chill until ready to serve, or serve at room temperature. |
