My grandfather was in the nut business and this is the recipe that's been handed down - it's better on the second day after it's chilled longer. Ingredients:
2 cups crushed cashews |
1/2 cup crushed almonds |
1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts (which i leave out since i'm allergic) |
2 cups applesauce |
1/4 cup blackberry wine |
2 tablespoons cherry wine |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. MIx all ingrediants together. Add more nuts/wine to taste (be careful tasting or you won't remember the seder - :). 2. It should look like paste when done and should not be liquidy - it is to remember the mortar used to build the pyramids. |
