I can't believe in all the Snickerdoodle recipes listed here this one isn't among them. This is the best. Every time I take these somewhere, people declare these are the best snickerdoodles they have ever had! I think the trick is to not over bake...bake until just starting to crack on top! Ingredients:
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup butter, softened |
2 cups sugar |
2 large eggs |
1/4 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
cinnamon-sugar mixture |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°. 2. Stir together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. 3. Beat butter for 30 seconds. 4. Add the 2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy. 5. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. 6. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating until well blended. 7. Form dough into 1-inch (or larger) balls - dough will be sticky. 8. Roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. 9. Place 2-inches apart on greased cooked sheet. 10. Flatten slightly with bottom of a glass. 11. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes until light golden and just beginning to crack on top. |
