I have been reading about this candy for some time. Anyone from the Buffalo NY area ever eat this? I found a recipe online and took information from comments on the candy - and viola. Should be good to take to the office during the holidays. Read more . NOTE about the Milnot ingredient: this is a product much like evaporated milk but cannot be found everywhere; if I cannot find Milnot, I'll try it with regular evaporated milk instead. Ingredients:
two pounds of milk chocolate bars - regular hershey bars or whatever you like |
two pounds of large marshmallows |
half a pound of cashews, chopped |
half a pound of toasted coconut flakes |
one stick of real butter, unsalted |
half a can of milnot |
sea salt |
Directions:
1. Butter a large cookie sheet; 2. In double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate bars, the butter and the Milnot; 3. In a large bowl, put the marshmallows, nuts, and coconut; 4. Pour the melted chocolate over the mixture in the bowl; 5. Stir until coated; 6. Pour it all out onto the buttered cookie sheet; 7. Press the mixture down with the back of a spoon; 8. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt; 9. Cover and refrigerate at least two hours; 10. Cut into squares. |
