I contrived this one during my mid-whisky years, so take that into account when measuring the ingredients. It should be a very dense “gooish” brownie and not the crumbly type. Ingredients:
--- brownies |
1/4 lb of butter (softened to room temp.) |
5 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate |
2 oz. of unsweetened chocolate |
1 cup of sugar |
1 tbls. of vanilla |
1 1/4 cups of flour |
3 large eggs |
1 cup of honey or toffee roasted peanuts |
--- easy chocolate sauce |
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate |
3 tbls. of baking grade cocoa powder |
3 cups of heavy cream |
2 oz. of brandy |
3/4 cup of confectioner’s sugar (that’s powdered for those of you in iowa) |
---also |
butterscotch sauce |
vanilla ice cream |
shaved chocolate in curly shapes |
Directions:
1. BROWNIES: Set up a double-boiler at a moderate heat. Put in the butter and then add the chocolates (grated). Cook until completely melted and smoothly mixed. Take it from the heat. 2. Mix in the, sugar, vanilla, and the eggs and a little pinch of salt. Incorporate the flour and the peanuts and then spread it into a greased pan, evenly distributed. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes. 3. CHOCOLATE SAUCE: Put the cream into a small sauce pan with the chocolate and cocoa and cook gently until it has melted. Mix in the sugar and brandy. Cook further over a fairly low heat for about 15-20 minutes. 4. TO SERVE: Have the butterscotch warmed and spread it out over a plate. Take next the chocolate sauce which should be in some type of squeeze bottle and warmed, and make that zigzag pattern which is found on Charlie Brown’s shirt. 5. Set the brownie on the upper half and then hit it with a little more chocolate sauce. Set a well rounded scoop of the ice cream on the brownie to represent Charlie Brown’s big bald head. Use the chocolate curls to symbolize the one curly hair on Charlie Brown’s big bald head. |
