Unleavened bread, soo easy to cook
Ingredients:
2 cups chapati flour or ground wholemeal (whole-wheat) flour
1/2 tsp salt (i dont add this)
3/4 cup of water
Directions:
1. Place the flour and salt in a mixing bowl, make a well in the middle and gradually stir in the water, mixing well with your fingers, form a supple dough and knead for 7-10 minutes,cover with cling film and leave for 15-20 minutes to rest,
2. Divide the dough into 8-10 egual portions, roll out each piece in a circle on a well-floured surface,
3. place a tava (chapati griddle) or heavy frying pan over a high heat, when steam rises from it. lower the heat to medium and add the first chapati to the pan
4. When the chapati begins to bubble,turn it over, press down with a clean dish towel or a flat spoon and turn once again, remove the cooked chapati from the pan and keep warm in a piece of foil lined with kitchen paper while you cook the other chapatis, repeat the process until all the breads are cooked
5. when the breads are cooked you can rub some butter over them (optional)
