Challah bread makes the best french toast. Ingredients:
6 slices challah |
1 cup milk |
2 eggs |
1 pinch salt |
1 teaspoon honey (optional) |
1/4 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional) |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon vanilla (optional) |
1 tablespoon unsalted butter |
1 tablespoon oil |
Directions:
1. Whisk eggs and milk. 2. Add orange zest, honey and vanilla. Add salt and cinnamon. 3. Soak bread slices for 5-6 minutes, turning once. 4. Melt unsalted butter and oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.Add the bread and cook 2-3 minutes on each side or until browned. |
