We barbecue a lot and I like experimenting, so I had this brainwave and tried it, it turned out a real winner, everyone loved it! Chicken and Bacon= CHAKEN
Ingredients:
1 or 2 large chicken breasts skinned (depending how many you are catering for)
1 pack (200 grams) lean back bacon
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
toothpicks or skewers
Directions:
1. 1 Prepare a marinade in a bowl by adding sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper and mix well
2. 2 Cut chicken breast into pieces 3 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches thick
3. 3 Pierce pieces with a fork and leave in marinade for 15 minutes, turning frequently.
4. 4 Wrap the chicken pieces with bacon and secure the wrap with a toothpick, or add multiple chicken wraps to a skewer
5. 5 Bake, grill, fry or place on the barbecue grid over medium heat till done, time depends on method used to cook.
6. Can be frozen and re-heated in the microwave for a quick snack
