This is a unique waffle recipe from the Searchlight Cookbook. An easy way to get in some grains (but the rest isn't super healthy!!). Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
4 tablespoons melted shortening |
1/2 cup chopped raisins |
2 tsp. baking powder |
1 cup uncooked granular cereal |
1 tsp. salt |
1 cup milk |
1 egg, well beaten |
Directions:
1. Sift the flour, measure, and sift with sugar, salt, and baking powder. 2. Add cereal, and combine with egg, shortening, milk, and raisins. 3. Bake in hot waffle iron. 4. Serve with maple syrup and butter. |
