Quick snack for tea time/breakfast. Great with a cup of hot coffee or hot tea. Ingredients:
1 kg flour add some bicarbonate of soda for extra crispiness |
1 handful of beansprouts – wash clean |
2 stalks chives or spring onion, cut finely |
1 teaspoon of tumeric powder – to flavour and also to give it a nice yellow, golden colour |
1 egg |
salt to taste |
a jug of water |
oil to fry. |
optional* 1 small handful of shrimps – or anchovies or dried shrimps |
Directions:
1. Bind all the above into one thick paste. 2. Add a little water if it refuses to stick all the beansprouts together. 3. Add a bit of flour is there seems to be ‘loose’ beansprouts. 4. Deep fry the batter by spoonsful in hot oil. 5. The shape does not have to be regular. 6. Can use ketchup or chili sauce to deep. |
