CAULIFLOWER IN SOUR SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Peyton Estate in Waxahachie, Texas in 1984. Ingredients:
1 head cauliflower |
3 tablespoons melted butter |
3 level tablespoons flour |
1-1/2 cups water |
1 egg well beaten |
3 tablespoons vinegar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Boil cauliflower until tender in salted water. 2. Melt butter then add flour and salt and mix until creamy. 3. Gradually add beaten egg beating constantly with wire whip until creamy and thickened. 4. Stir in vinegar then drain cauliflower and place in a serving dish. 5. Pour sauce over cauliflower and serve. |
