These looked so appealing that I thought I would try them! They are all I expected them to be and even more! It was a new way to present a vegetable and they like pot pies here at the home. I think we were able to get them to taste cauliflower - hooray!!! So in honor of British Cheese Week I am posting these, here's to you French Tart! A simple & tasty dish in your honor.. Ingredients:
6 3/4 ounces creme fraiche |
3 1/2 ounces grated cheddar cheese (the best kind you can get) |
4 spring onions, shredded |
1 head cauliflower, cut into florets (medium size) |
3 1/2 ounces frozen peas, defrosted |
13 1/4 ounces puff pastry, cut in 4 circles (to fit dishes) |
1 egg, beaten |
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional) |
salt, if needed |
fresh ground black pepper, if needed |
Directions:
1. Het the oven to 360ºF. 2. Mix the creme fraiche, cheddar, spring onions, cauliflower and peas and divide between 4 small ovenproof dishes. 3. Top with pastry circles, press down firmly and glaze with the egg. 4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until crisp and golden. |
