Ingredients:
1 small onion, chopped |
1 tablespoon butter or margarine |
1 cup milk |
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded american cheese, divided |
1 egg yolk, beaten |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon white pepper |
1/8 teaspoon paprika |
1 medium head cauliflower, cleaned and cooked |
1/2 cup soft breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Sauté onion in butter in a saucepan until tender. Add milk; cook over low heat 5 minutes. Add 1 cup cheese; cook, stirring constantly, until cheese melts. Cool. 2. Stir in egg yolk, salt, pepper, and paprika. Spoon 1/4 cup of sauce into a 2-quart baking dish. Place cauliflower in sauce. Spoon remaining sauce over cauliflower. Top with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs. 3. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. |
