I hadn't intended to make this recipe public, there are many here already. It was 5 years ago today that my darling sister Carol gave me this recipe when she last visited our home - she has since passed away. It was pure chance that I looked at her recipe today and noticed her last visit was 7th Sept 2001, today's date. I had typed it into the description when I'd submitted her recipe in June. Ingredients:
2 cups self raising flour |
1 1/3 cups sugar |
125 g margarine, firm |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup cocoa powder |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda |
3/4 cup water |
1 1/2 cups icing sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 cup cocoa powder |
2 teaspoons margarine |
Directions:
1. Mixture will be sloppy. 2. Mix all dry ingredients together first; mix in margarine, then eggs, one at a time. 3. Mix in water, add more if needed. 4. Bake in an 8inch round or 2 loaf tins at 180degC (350degF),moderate oven, approximately 55 mins but check at 45 minutes. 5. Let cool in oven. 6. Icing; Mix icing ingredients with a little hot water. |
