This is another recipe that came from a song Morgan heard when he was little. Mike doesn't like vegies, but he thinks this is full of meat, and makes it past the carrots just fine!! Ingredients:
1 lb bag of lentils |
1 lb bag of baby carrots, left whole |
1 qt beef broth |
1 tsp beef soup base |
1 med. onion, diced |
3-4 cloves garlic, mashed |
butter to saute onions and garlic |
1/2 tsp cumin |
2 tsp liquid smoke |
salt and pepper to tase |
Directions:
1. Sort and rinse lentils 2. saute onion in butter. When onions are clear, add garlic and saute for a couple minutes more. 3. Combine, all ingredients in a stock pot bring to a boil then lower heat to simmer, and simmer until carrots are tender. |
