                    These were the first muffins I ever made at the ripe young age of 8. I guess you could say that was the beginning of a love of cooking and baking for me. They are really good with a big bowl of vegetable soup. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1 1/2 cups flour  |  
                                                1/2 cup sugar  |  
                                                2 teaspoons baking powder  |  
                                                1 teaspoon cinnamon  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon nutmeg  |  
                                                1 cup chopped walnuts  |  
                                                1/2 cup butter  |  
                                                1 egg  |  
                                                1 cup milk  |  
                                                1 cup grated carrot  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. 2. Cut in butter with a pastry blender. 3. Stir in remaining ingredients. 4. Spoon into muffin cups (greased or paper-lined). 5. Bake at 400* for 20 minutes.                              |
