Carrot and Rice Pilaf Dehydrated Mix |

We store this mix in airtight containers and use when we haven’t got time to cook a fresh meal or when we are backpacking. Ingredients:
1 cup dehydrated carrot |
2 cups uncooked rice |
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/4 teaspoon paprika |
1 tablespoon dried parsley |
1 tablespoon vegetable bouillon |
1 tablespoon dried onion |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
3 cups water |
Directions:
1. Put ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan. Bring to boil on high heat then cover and simmer on medium to low heat for 30 minutes; or until rice is tender and water has cooked off. Turn off heat and let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Fluff and serve. |
