Carol's Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies |

Larger cookies (approximately 2-1/2 inches round). Tried to make healthier by adding wheat germ and using wheat flour versus white flour. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 tsp vanilla |
1/4 tsp water |
2 tbs wheat germ |
1/2 cup wheat flour |
1/2 cup unbleached flour |
1/2 tsp baking soda |
1/2 tsp salt |
3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Blend shortening and sugars. Beat in vanilla, water, and egg. Sift remaining dry ingredients together and add to the sugar and egg mixture. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop from tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. |
