Friends have raved to me about this sangria; I guess because I'm from Spain and have sampled plenty, lol :) Going to a party this weekend where I'll try it for myself, but wanted to post here so I don't lose the recipe!! Prep time includes marinating and chilling time. Ingredients:
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine, the cheap kind (burgundy works well) |
1 orange, halved and sliced |
1 lemon, halved and sliced |
1/2 cup granny smith apple, sliced |
1/2 cup seedless grapes, sliced (green or red) |
1/2 cup brandy |
1/2 cup triple sec |
1/2 cup boiling water |
3 tablespoons sugar (or a bit more to taste) |
1/2 cup orange juice |
Directions:
1. Combine 1st three ingredients and add sliced fruit. Marinate fruit at least 6 hours. 2. Dissolve sugar in water, cool. Add with orange juice to wine mixture, stir. 3. Chill at least 2 hours and serve over ice. 4. Easily multiplied. |
