This is a 1961 recipe from a Carolina Up Country Cook Book. Green cabbage with celery, white raisins soaked in sherry, pecans , apple, a little onion mixed with mayonnaise. Ingredients:
3 cups shredded or chopped green cabbage |
1 cup celery, chopped |
1 cup white raisins |
1/4 cup sherry |
1/2 cup pecans, chopped |
1 cup crisp apple, diced |
1 teaspoon onion, finely cut |
1/3 cup mayonnaise |
Directions:
1. Soak raisins in sherry 2. Combine all ingredients, adding apple last 3. Lightly coat with mayonnaise and chill |
