I like to take a basic Carolina BBQ recipe and use it as the base of a vinaigrette salad dressing. Ingredients:
1/2 cup cider vinegar |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup spicy brown mustard |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup white onion, diced |
1/4 teaspoon garlic, chopped |
1/4 cup peanut oil |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/8 teaspoon chili powder |
1 dash worcestershire sauce |
salt |
black pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a deep sauce pan. 2. Saute the onions until translucent. 3. Add garlic to pan and cook a minute or two longer. 4. Whisk in vinegar, ketchup, mustard, chili powder, and worcestershire sauce. 5. Season with salt and pepper. 6. Allow to cool a bit. 7. Whisk in peanut oil. |
