This is a recipe I learned from my grandmother-in-law, a native Mexican. Yummy, spicy, and simple. Ingredients:
2 lbs beef, cubed |
1/4 cup flour |
3 tablespoons oil |
6 celery ribs, chopped |
1 white onion, chopped |
6 jalapeno peppers, deseeded and finely chopped |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
2 (15 ounce) cans beef broth |
1 tablespoon cumin powder |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
sour cream, as desired |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Coat beef in flour and brown in large oven safe pan. 3. Add all remaining ingredients and bring to boil. 4. Cover and place in oven for 2 hours. 5. Serve hot with sour cream dabbed on top. |
