12 slices (12 ounces) thick slices bacon, preferably apple wood smoked |
1/2 c packed light brown sugar |
2 tbl. water |
1/2 tsp. ground red pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Line 15 X 10-inch jelly-roll pan with heavy-duty foil. Spray wire rack with nonstick cooking spray; place in prepared pan. 3. Cut bacon in half crosswise; arrange in single layer on prepared wire rack. 4. Combine sugar, water and red pepper in small bowl; mix well. Brush generously over surface of bacon. 5. Bake bacon 20 to 25 minutes or until very brown, but not burned. Immediately transfer to serving platter; cool completely. |
