These are so good.. They're a cross between a cookie and a candy... but are very easy to make.. a thing that I don't do very often since I can't leave them alone! I got the recipe from a pamphlet called Fall Baking by Pillsbury Ingredients:
1 pillsbury plus yellow cake mix |
1/4 cup butter |
4 cups pecan halves ( i use a little more) |
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 cup butter |
1/2 cup honey |
1/4 cup whipping cream |
optional: bag of either milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips |
Directions:
1. place cake mix in a large bowl. using a pastry blender cut in 1/4 cup butter until the mixture resembles course crumbs 2. press into an ungreased 15 x 10'' jelly roll pan 3. top with the pecans. gently press into the dough 4. in a heavy pan combine brown sugar, sugar, 1 cup butter, and honey 5. bring to a full boil over medium heat stirring constantly 6. boil 3 mins. remove from heat 7. stir in cream until well blended 8. pour filling over pecans.. ( the nuts will move around ) 9. bake 350' 17-22 mins or until the entire surface is bubbly 10. optional if you are going to put the chocolate chips on wait until it sets up a little then drop on and swirl around 11. cool completely then cut |
