2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon caraway seeds |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 tablespoons stick margarine, chilled and cut into small pieces |
2/3 cup 1% low-fat milk |
1 large egg, lightly beaten |
cooking spray |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°. 2. Combine the first 5 ingredients, and cut in margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Pat dough into an 8-inch circle on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Cut dough into 12 wedges, cutting into, but not through, dough. Bake scones at 400° for 15 minutes. Serve scones warm. |
