This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Prigge Estate in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1991. Ingredients:
1/2-cup small dried figs, stemmed |
1/2-cup dates, pitted |
1-cup walnuts |
rind of one orange, grated |
2 tablespoons orange juice |
powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Put fruit and nuts through a food chopper, alternating to help mix them. 2. Or, chop very fine with a sharp knife. 3. Clean knife blade often, as it gets sticky. 4. Add the orange rind and juice. 5. Knead with fingers to mix well. 6. Pull off about 1 tablespoon at a time then roll into a ball. 7. Flatten slightly and roll in powdered sugar. 8. To store place between layers of waxed paper in a tightly covered container. |
