Caramelized Red Peppers and Onions |

Ingredients:
2 red bell pepper, cut in strips |
2 red onions, cut in strips |
1 clove garlic, chopped fine |
1 t extra virgin olive oil |
1 t butter |
1/4 c red wine |
1 pinch salt |
1 pinch ground black pepper |
1 pinch dried basil |
Directions:
1. In medium skillet/ medium heat -oil and butter and add red peppers, onion and garlic; saute for 2-3 min. Reduce heat med-low and continue cooking, stir occasionally until onions and peppers soften and darken. 2. Stir in red wine and reduce until evaporated. Season with salt and basil. |
