We take sandwiches up a notch with our Caramelized Onion Bliss. Blue cheese, caramlized onions, and sauteed pears combine inside challah bread and are cooked in a panini press. Ingredients:
blue cheese |
sautéed pears |
brioche or challah bread |
butter, softened |
Directions:
1. Place blue cheese, caramelized onions, and sautéed pears on brioche or challah bread. Spread outside of sandwiches with butter. Cook in a pre-heated panini press 2 to 3 minutes or until golden. 2. Wine Suggestion: The intense complexity of ingredients calls for a wine of equal complexity, but one that will complement, not compete. Leitz' Dragonstone Riesling ($16) would be a great choice, but any good-quality Spätlese or even Auslese-level Riesling would be wonderful as well.
