Delicious over vanilla ice cream Ingredients:
6 tablespoons butter |
1/3 cup sugar |
2 lbs apples, peeled and sliced thin (crisp varieties work best) |
2/3 cup whipping cream |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
cinnamon (optional) |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat; sprinkle sugar over. 2. Stir until sugar begins to melt, about 1 minute. 3. Add apples. 4. Saute until apples are brown and tender and juices form, about 10 minutes. 5. Add cream and simmer until sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes. 6. (Can be prepared 3 hours ahead. Let stand at room temperature. Re-warm apples over medium heat.). |
