I love blondies...the caramel makes these absolutes delicious! Ingredients:
1 (14 ounce) package caramels |
2/3 cup evaporated milk (divided in half) |
1 (18 1/4 ounce) package caramel flavored cake mix |
3/4 cup melted butter or 3/4 cup margarine |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 1/2 cups walnut pieces |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Place caramels in medium saucepan over low heat, add 1/3 cup milk and stir until caramels melt. 3. Remove from heat and set aside. 4. Combine cake mix and remaining milk along with next 3 ingredients, and stir until just combined. 5. Spread half of batter into greased 9 inch square pan, and chill remaining half in fridge. 6. Bake first half of dough 10 minutes, then cool on wire rack for 5 minutes. 7. Pour melted caramel mixture over brownie mixture and sprinkle with walnut pieces. 8. Divide remaining chilled dough into pieces and press flat. 9. Place dough pieces over caramel/walnut layer, overlapping slightly. 10. Bake 25 minutes. 11. Remove and cool completely on wire rack. 12. Cover and chill for about 1 hour before cutting. |
