A rich caramel sauce for ice cream or other desserts such as pound cakes or butter cakes...
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup heavy cream
Directions:
1. In a large heavy saucepan, combine sugar and the water over low heat, stir until sugar is dissolved.
2. Over high heat , cook syrup until caramelized and golden amber in color.
3. Remove pan from heat; slowly and carefully whish in cream, 2 tablespoons at a time.
4. Mixture will bubble as cream is added.
5. Serve warm.,
