This is a great sauce to pour over cheesecakes, applesauce bread or apple cake. Also good on vanilla ice-cream, the boys tell me anyway. Ingredients:
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream |
3 tablespoons butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar |
Directions:
1. combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, whipping cream, cream of tartar and butter in 1-quart saucepan. 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved (3 to 4 minutes). 3. Remove from heat stir in vanilla. 4. Drizzle sauce over each piece of cake. |
