I found this recipe on-line, but it's been long enough I don't remember where. I think the title of the recipe is enough of a descripton, but if it's not let me just say...this is a little slice of heaven just for your mouth. Read more ...ENJOY! Ingredients:
3 cups brown sugar |
3 cups water |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
3 cups milk |
6 egg yolks |
2 tsp good, quality vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Combine milk, flour and eggs together making sure the flour does not lump on you. 2. In a dutch oven, over high heat bring the brown sugar, water and butter to a boil. Boil together for 2 or 3 minutes, this will give you a strong caramel flavor. 3. While it's boiling, add the flour mixture to the boiling sugar water mixture. I use a whisk for this and don't stop stirring until it is all incorporated into the boiling liquid. 4. Remove from the heat, cool for 5 minutes stirring only once while you add in the vanilla. 5. Pour into 2 baked pie shells. 6. Allow the pie to cool and top with whipped cream. Enjoy! |
