4 egg yolks |
1/2 c. cream |
vanilla |
lump of butter---size of walnut |
2 1/2 c. brown sugar |
scant c. flour |
1 1/2 c. hot water |
Directions:
1. Beat egg yolks well and add cream. 2. Mix sugar and flour until well blended, add hot water and mix, add eggs and cream and cook in double boiler until very thick, stir and beat. 3. Remove from heat, add butter and beat until smooth, pour into 9 inch baked pie shell. 4. ==================================================== 5. Meringue 6. 2 egg whites 7. 4 Tbsps. sugar 8. 2 Tbsps. cold water 9. Vanilla 10. Add water to egg whites and beat until stiff, gradually add sugar and beat until sugar dissolves. 11. Spread on pie and bake at 350 degrees until brown. |
