This is an old Kraft classic. I usually make it at the holidays, It's a nutty-gooey pie that leaves a nice taste that satisfies that hankering for something filling. Enjoy! Ingredients:
40 pieces caramels, don't forget to unwrap them |
1/4 cup water |
1/4 cup butter |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teas salt |
1 teas vanilla |
3 large eggs, beaten |
1 cup pecan halves |
1/2 cup pecans, chopped |
1 9 inch unbaked pastry shell |
Directions:
1. Melt caramels with water & butter in a saucepan over low heat. 2. Stir occasionally until smooth.Combine sugar,salt & eggs. Gradually 3. add caramel sauce and mix well. 4. Stir in pecan halves & pour into pastry shell.Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes 5. to 1 hour depending on your oven. 6. Pie filling will appear soft,but becomes firm as it cools. |
