When the cupboards are bare, this is a winner! Not only is it simple, but the flavor is delicious. My family asks me to make it often. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons margarine |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 3/4 cups boiling water |
1 tablespoon margarine |
1/2 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. For the sauce, melt the margarine in a casserole dish on top of the stove. 2. Add brown sugar and boiling water. 3. Bring to a boil. 4. Remove from heat. 5. Mix all of the dumpling ingredients together. 6. Drop by spoonfuls into the sauce. 7. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. |
