Ingredients:
9-inch pie shell |
24 caramels (one-half of a 14-ounce package) |
2 tablespoons water |
4 cups apples, sliced and peeled |
3/4 cup flour |
1/3 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/3 cup butter |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Roll pastry to a 12-inch circle on lightly floured surface. 3. Place in a 9-inch pie plate. 4. Turn under edge; flute. 5. Melt caramels with water in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. 6. Spoon apples into crust; top with caramel sauce. 7. Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture. 8. resembles coarse crumbs. 9. Stir in walnuts. 10. Sprinkle over apples. 11. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender. |
