This is a recipe I obtained from a neighbor several years ago. She makes this in triple batches and serves it at her parties. Always a big hit and it is very addicting. Enjoy Ingredients:
8 quarts popped corn |
2 cups salted peanuts |
1 cup butter |
1/2 cup light corn syrup |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 teaspoon maple flavoring |
Directions:
1. Combine popped corn and peanuts in a large bowl then set aside. 2. Combine butter, corn syrup, sugar and salt in a saucepan then bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes stirring occasionally. 4. Remove from heat then quickly stir in soda and flavorings. 5. Pour over popcorn mixture and mix well. 6. Spoon mixture onto three jellyroll pans and bake at 250 for 1 hour stirring occasionally. 7. Remove from oven then stir occasionally while mixture cools. 8. Store in an airtight container. |
