I love to doctor up a brownie mix, and this recipe is a keeper. Recipe courtesy of Linda Gassenheimer who is an award winning author of several cookbooks. Serving size is estimated. Ingredients:
20 ounces brownie mix |
1/2 cup oil |
1/4 cup water |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 ounces sweetened condensed milk |
8 ounces caramels (about 1 cup) |
1/2 cup pecans, broken |
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan. 2. Combine brownie mix, oil, water, and eggs in large bowl. 3. Stir for 50 strokes with a spoon and spread in greased pan. 4. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes. 5. Heat the caramels and condensed milk in a saucepan. 6. Stir consistently until the caramels melt. 7. Mix in the pecans and the chocolate chips until the chips melt. 8. Spread over cooled brownies. 9. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. |
