Caramel Apple Bread Pudding

Easy bread pudding that is delicious.
Ingredients:
6 slices thick day old bread, cut in 1/2 inch cubes
1 cup hot water
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 cups warm milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup finely chopped apple
1/3 cup finely chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Place bread in greased 2 qt casserole. combine water and brown sugar and pour over bread. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread.
2. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 - 60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
