This is a fresh and easy appetizer that everyone can enjoy. It's a great way to showcase herbs and tomatoes straight from the garden. Ingredients:
4 slices of bread |
4 ounces of fresh mozzarella, sliced |
12 fresh basil leaves |
2 tablespoons fresh parsley |
1 medium tomato, sliced |
olive oil to drizzle |
balsamic vinegar to drizzle |
sea salt to taste |
freshly ground pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. Drizzle or bush each slice of bread lightly with olive oil. 2. Divide and arrange tomatoes evenly on each slice of bread. 3. Divide and arrange mozzarella evenly on each slice of bread. 4. Top each slice with 3 basil leaves. 5. Top each slice with 1/2 tablespoon of parsley. 6. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar. 7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. 8. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes, or until mozzarella has begun to melt. 9. Serve immediately. |
