This is my version of Caprese Pizza. Ingredients:
6 slices bacon |
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (use more if you love cheese!) |
1 lb pizza dough |
1/2 cup basil pesto |
1 tomato, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds |
2 tablespoons fresh basil, sliced |
Directions:
1. Cut the bacon slices in half and cook in a skillet over medium heat until still slightly chewy, about 8 minutes. 2. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside. 3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to 16 x 12 rectangle and transfer to a lightly floured baking sheet. 4. Spread with the pesto and top with the tomato, bacon and cheese. 5. Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes. 6. Sprinkle with the fresh basil and serve. |
