Simple, easy cookie bars that satisfy the taste buds. A unique combination of a simple cake mix, chocolate chips and sweet condensed milk . This is a perfect bring-along for an office or pot luck party. Read more . It comes from a Woman's Day 2004 issue. Who cares. All I know is it's simple, easy and great. Ingredients:
1 box - white cake mix |
2 - large eggs |
1/3 cup - oil |
1 can - sweetened condensed milk |
1 cup - semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1/2 stick butter - cut small |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. 2. Beat cake mix, eggs and oil in a large bowl with mixer until 3. blended. Press 2/3 of mixture into pan. 4. Microwave condensed milk, chocolate and butter in a bowl on high for 1 minute. Stir until smooth. 5. Pour mixture over crust (cake mixture). Top with teaspoonfuls of 1/3 of reserved cake mixture. 6. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until lightly browned. 7. Cool; cut into bars. 8. Note: People have said this would be good with added nuts and/or coconut. I imagine if desired, you could add these ingredients between the cake and chocolate mixture!!! Or.......Use your imagination!! 9. Enjoy! |
