Faced with a plain can of green beans to use as a last-minute side dish, I had to come up with some way to quickly turn them into something I would actually want to eat. I have to admit, these green beans turned out to be pretty good. :) Ingredients:
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can cut green beans, drained |
2 tablespoons onions, chopped |
2 tablespoons mushrooms, chopped or sliced |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 cup water |
1 chicken bouillon cube |
Directions:
1. Heat olive oil in small sauce pan. 2. Add onion and mushrooms, saute until softened and onions are golden brown. 3. Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil. 4. Drop bullion cube in boiling water and allow to dissolve. 5. Stir to mix buillion flavor evenly. 6. Stir in green beans and allow to come to a boil for 30 seconds. 7. Cover and reduce heat. 8. Simmer for 15 minutes. |
